YOUTUBE CLIPS (EDITING TECHNIQUES ON FINAL CUT)

I logged in to Youtube and watched some tutorials for Final Cut Pro for beginners and how to use the program on the Macs. I had never used Final Cut before until I had to use it for editing my music video first draft. I watched the tutorials to get an insight in to the program and how it is used to edit footage, I found them very useful and effective in helping me successfully edit my music video.

This was the first tutorial I watched and it was good because it talked me through all the tools that can be used on final cut. It also showed me how I mute my clips and how to add sound, this was the main video I used to help me when editing. I had it up in the background whilst I was editing so I could match the clip.

The rest of the tutorials I used was ones which talked me through some more of the basics, but showed me how to add effects to my footage and how to change the state of the footage, add colour. I used the tutorials as a way to explore the program and learn how it works. I just experimented with the program and the tools and see what fitted my footage best and gave the effect I wanted.

The video above was a basic editing tutorial, so it explained how to add effects and mute my clips, put writing over clips and many other things. This was also a very good video because even though the video was basic it was great because it went through each stage step by step. I was pausing and playing the video to make sure I was doing all my editing effectively and correctly so I had a high standard of work.

This clip above was a tutorial that explained how to add transitions between shots to merge the video together. I found this part of editing tricky because I had to make sure the transitions merged and wasn't obvious. The clip talked me through the best transition effects for different clips, I was amazed to find how many transitions was available for me to use for my music video.
