EVALUATION QUESTION 3 - (WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED FROM YOUR AUDIENCE FEEDBACK?)

In this question I am going to discuss what I have learnt from my audience feedback. I will be using responses I have gained from social media, questionnaire answers with analysis, focus groups through the making of my music video and ancillary texts, how I applied to my target audience and what I learnt from the feedback I have received.

Responses I gained about my products on social media. I posted my music video on to Facebook and asked people (my target market) if they could comment on the effectiveness of my product:

So I gathered information and feedback from people on social media about my music video and what they thought of it. I got really positive and encouraging feedback. I learnt that my audience loved how well I represented the narrative throughout my music video, I also learnt that my audience loved my editing because it made my music video more interesting to watch which was good because it made me feel good and confident about my music video and that it was realistic and reinforced a clear narrative that I wanted to portray because the audience could understand it easily.

Audience feedback (Survey questions and answers about my music video, digipack and music advert):

What have I learnt from feedback in the process of my construction? What did I change when I showed audiences my products?

Audience feedback focus groups from different ages about my product:

I used a 46 year old woman and a 16 year old girl to answer questions based on all my products as a whole. I used these different age groups because different ages interpret things different and have different opinions based on their likes and dislikes. I asked the both of them the same questions to get their responses and thoughts on all three of my products.
The questions I asked my focus group respondents were:
1) What do you believe was effective about all three of my products?
2) Do you believe my music video and ancillary texts fitted the pop genre?
3) What do you believe I could of done to improve my products?
4) Do you believe all of my products are like existing ones on the market?
5) Who do you believe are the target audience for my products?
Focus Group 1

Focus Group 1: I recorded above a lady of 46 years of age to get her views on my music video. Her feedback was positive and unexpected. I believed because the pop genre usually appeals to the younger audience that she might not of enjoyed my products but she did. She mentions how my products are bright and well edited and there is a good use of costumes and also she mentions how she thinks my products look professional and are like existing products. She believed that my target audience for my products would be teenagers because they often listen to pop music. I have learnt from this audience feedback that there is a lot more audiences of different ages that enjoy watching pop videos and engaging with pop media texts and that my products are professional and work well as products together.

Focus Group 2:
Focus Group 2: This next focus group was done by a 16 year old female which is a different age group. Her feedback was also very positive and gave me confidence in my products because audience feedback is important because it is the audiences that know exactly what they want from products on the market and know what reflects to the pop genre. She mentioned how my products were professional and well edited, her feedback included how my products fit the pop genre because they're bright and eye-catching for the audience. She mentioned that she thought I could improve on my products by making my ancillary products more like my music video, this has been mentioned in most of my audience feedback as a main point. I have taken my audience feedback on board because it is important as she is my target audience age and knows what to expect of the pop genre and specific products.

How did I appeal to my target audience?
